Washdown Hose, Nozzles & Mixing Stations

Washdown hose, along with sanitary spray nozzles and mixing stations are used in virtually every type of food processing plant. From packing houses, hot processing plants, breweries, dairies, and wineries, there is a need for sanitation in the form of cold and hot water washing. Unisource offers two hose options for these applications–first, our Series 2179 traditional white covered washdown hose. Rated for 300 PSI working pressure, this hose has been the standard in food processing plants for many years. Secondly, we offer our Series 2107, our premium option with yellow carboxylated nitrile cover, 400 PSI working pressure rating, and the longest service life.

For spray nozzles, we also have two basic options–our Style 150, the traditional sanitary nozzle with rubber cover (choice of colors) for use on mixing stations blending cold and hot water. The nozzle body is typically brass. The internal parts are replaceable and interchangeable with many other brands of spray nozzles. Our Style D150S Duraflow nozzles are made with a different configuration, but are also rubber covered and are specifically designed to prevent spray from happening if the nozzles are accidentally dropped.

Our mixing stations are offered in brass/bronze or stainless steel and are for either cold and hot water mixing or for cold water and steam mixing.

This hose is primarily designed for use in food processing plants, dairies, packing houses, bottling plants, breweries, canneries, and creameries. The high quality EPDM compounds allow this hose to be used in a temperature range of -40°F to 200°F.

This washdown hose is designed for applications requiring a premium quality, multi-purpose hose with superior abrasion resistance for air, oil, and some chemical applications. Excellent durability for extra long life in these applications: mining, air drill, construction, poultry plants, and other severe service. Meets MSHA requirements for flame resistant and non-conductive (1/4″ thru 1-1/4″).

Description:

Style 150 spray nozzles are made specifically for use on water mixing stations where cold and hot water may be combined for ideal sanitation conditions.

Style 150 spray nozzles are constructed with a standard body of heavy-duty brass. Aluminum or stainless steel body nozzles are also available. The external rubber cover prevents damage to the brass body and resists animal fats and oils. A variety of cover colors are available. The plastic covered operating lever is rear mounted to reduce hand fatigue and offer smooth lever action. Water is conserved due to a drip-free automatic shutoff feature upon release of lever. Spray patterns can be adjusted from fan spray to solid stream.

The internal components in the Style 150 nozzles are replaceable and are interchangeable with other major sanitary wash-down nozzles, assuring proper fit and reduced inventory of spare parts. The valve seats are brass with options of aluminum or stainless steel.

Style 150 spray nozzles are built with a female NPT ½” thread to accommodate our special swivel adapters. Swivel hose barb adapters are available in either 1/2”, 5/8”, or 3/4” barb size. The 2-1/2” long barb has a locking O-ring design and a built-in lever locking ring. Male thread is 1/2” NPT. A ½” male NPT x FGHT swivel adapter is available. Swivel adapters are standard in brass/stainless steel and can be special ordered in all stainless steel.

Unisource Style D150S spray nozzle is specifically designed to prevent accidental spray. It’s unique cover design is not only durable, but also prevents the front mounted levers from being accidentally activated when dropped. This nozzle also reduces hand fatigue and offers smooth lever action.

Unisource Style D150S spray nozzles also come with a trigger locking mechanism for a safe and secure method of maintaining the nozzle open at any spray pattern. Variable spray patterns are adjustable from fan spray to solid stream. Water conservation is assured upon release of lever by the drip-free automatic shutoff feature.
